The Power of Habit

The Power of Habit is one of the strongest forces marketers have working for and against them. We as humans naturally like repetition. We get up, for the most part, at the same time. We eat at the same places regularly. We talk to the same people. We buy the same type of phone over and over. And the list goes on and on. Once a company has a customer, there is a good chance that customer will be loyal to that company. The challenge is to obtain the customer. As individuals are bombarded with more and more marketing campaigns every single day, marketers must become, and are becoming, more creative in their campaigns to cut through the marketing noise and habit. A great example is the increase in advertising by companies of all sorts other than children's products on Cartoon Networks. These marketers have realized that the sooner they begin to expose these individuals to their products or services, the higher the chance they will become loyal customers once they are old enough. It is creative and out of the box thinking such as this that will help companies break old marketing habits and obtain customers that will habitually purchase their products or services!
