Timing is Everthing--Especially in Business

Did you know that Thomas Edison's first patented invention was a electronic voting machine? What seems to be a fixture in our world today was quite the novelty back in 1869--so much so that it was never used! This vital part of our modern elections was ahead of its time when Edison invented it and just reinforces the point that timing truly is everything. While an idea may be fantastic, the market may not be ready for it. However, just because the market may not be ready, that is no reason to completely give up on the idea. Still be innovating and providing a good or a service that the market wants, but also waiting for the right timing to bring your great idea to market. Unlike Edison's voting machine that was shelved and never used, your idea just might be the Ipad that was shelved just long enough for the market to be ready for it!
