SEO, Is it worth it?
So is Search Engine Optimization really worth it, is it really worth it to pay every time someone clicks your link that has shown up really high in the search results? Well, like most things, it depends! If your company is solely or mainly an online company, then yes, absolutely! But if your company is a local niche mom-n-pop, then maybe not. If your company is really large and established, it probably has a large marketing budget and SEO would be important, but if your company is relatively new without a need for a large online presence and without a large marketing budget, it's probably wiser to grow through word-of-mouth, targeted lead generation, etc. With the explosion of Social Media, the shift from print to online, and the research habits of the younger generation of consumers, SEO has become a rather expensive option of advertising. Because a company must pay every time its link is clicked, the conversion rate on SEO is fairly low. In addition, the return on investment dollars can be much lower than organic campaigns through social media and paid, targeted lead generation companies. So, do your research, compare your options, and you might realize that SEO just isn't worth it!
